The organization has been gathering on the sidewalks adjacent to the high school, Superintendent Daniel Fishbein told parents in a letter.

Groups such as The Gideon International have a constitutional right to congregate the way they have been, Fishbein said. However, the village is aware of their presence and will send extra patrols to the school if the church members are present.

Members of the organization are not permitted on school property, nor permitted to impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic on the sidewalks or in the street.
